The 2020 St. George’s Programme Sponsorship Opportunities

Date TBD – Hinton Blue in Concert. Local rock and blues band Hinton Blue will perform a gig in St. George’s Hall. A bar will be provided.

Date TBD – 1220 to 2020; 800 years of Hinton St. George Church A talk by Charles Bird in St. George’s Church on some of the key events in the history of the Church.

Date TBD – The Brue Boys in Concert. We are delighted  that well-known local male voice choir The Brue Boys are supporting the 2020 programme, with a concert in St. George’s Church. Always popular, they will give a great start to the musical  side of the 2020 programme and we can promise a great evening.

Friday 23rd April 2021 (St. George’s Day) – Dragon ProcessionA Dragon made by the children of Hinton St. George First School will process up through the village to the churchyard, to meet its fate at the hands of St. George!

Sunday 9th May 2021 – Beating the BoundsReviving the ancient Rogation Sunday tradition of Beating the Bounds, a village walk round the old Parochial boundary of Hinton St. George, with a family picnic half-way round at Mill Farm.

Date TBD – Grand PageantA Grand Pageant will move through the village, re-enacting important events in the life of the village. It will start at the Church and then move on to the Cross and the Priory before finishing up at the Lord Poulett Arms.

Date TBD – Celebratory Service and Street PartyA celebratory service will be held in the Church in the presence of the Bishop of Taunton to which the whole village will be invited, followed by a street party with a hog/lamb roast in Church Drive.

Date TBD – Art ExhibitionAn Art Exhibition will be held in St. George’s Hall on the theme of 800 years of village life, showcasing the exciting and varied talents of local artists. There will be a private viewing on the evening of 4th September.

Date TBD – Celebration ConcertA celebratory concert will be held in the Church featuring music from each of the eight centuries of the Church’s life. Performers will include Antiphon, a choir based in Exeter Cathedral, talented local organist Jonathan Delbridge and former Hinton resident and fine mezzo-soprano, Louise Innes.

Sunday 13th December 2020 – Candlelit ProcessionA candlelit procession will pass through the village to the Church for the Christmas Carol service, singing carols led by the Sixteen Bells choir.

  • £300 PackageNamed as Principal Sponsor for the selected event and an appropriate advertisement in the 2020 St. George’s Souvenir Programme and on all publicity materials. Four complimentary tickets to the event selected for sponsorship.

In addition, we would be prepared to offer an opportunity to be the Principal Sponsor for the whole programme. The arrangements for this would be negotiable.
